Do you know the origin of the word "bogus"?
Bogus (false, sham) The word does not derive from 'bogey', even though both words suggest something unpleasant or at any rate mischievous. The actual source of 'bogus' is uncertain, but the term originated in the United States to apply to false coins, and it could, perhaps, be related to 'bogie' in the sense of 'wheeled assembly', referring to the device (the so called 'bogus press') that was used to produce such coins.
