It's been said that English is an illogical language. When you consider that many words are not pronounced the way they are spelt you cannot agree more with that statement.
Take for example words ending with "...age". The words should not be pronounced with an "..age" sound but instead should be pronounced as "..idge" as in bridge. Apply this rule to these words:
